The plaque is one of a
series commemorating various units who served in Darwin during World War II.
They are set at ground level next to a fence overlooking the harbour and in
close proximity to Darwin Cenotaph.

THIS RECORDS SERVICE IN DARWIN 1941 AND IN GULL FORCE
ON AMBON DECEMBER 1941 TO JANUARY 1942, AND
COMMEMORATES THOSE KILLED IN ACTION ON AMBON 1942
AND THOSE WHO DIED AS PRISONERS OF WAR ON AMBON
AND HAINAN 1942 TO 1945.
