The plaque is one of a series commemorating various units who served in Darwin during World War II. They are set at ground level next to a fence overlooking the harbour and in close proximity to Darwin Cenotaph.

(THE S.A. SCOTTISH REGIMENT)
IN DARWIN AND ENVIRONS FROM DECEMBER 1941
TO APRIL 1943. THE BATTALION WAS RESPONSIBLE
FOR INFANTRY DEFENCE FOR MANY MILES OF
COASTLINE FROM DARWIN CITY TO SHOAL BAY.
