The plaque is one of a series commemorating various units who served in Darwin during World War II. They are set at ground level next to a fence overlooking the harbour and in close proximity to Darwin Cenotaph.

Erected to commemorate the service of all
Battalion personnel in the Darwin Area from
June 1943 to December 1944.

After disbandment, reinforced the 11th,
16th. and 28th. Battalions in New Britain.

This plaque donated by Members of the 38th.
Battalion Social Club, Bendigo Area Victoria.
