The plaque is one of a series commemorating various units who served in Darwin during World War II. They are set at ground level next to a fence overlooking the harbour and in close proximity to Darwin Cenotaph.

This plaque is dedicated to the memory of those members of the
NEI and the RAAF
who served in the above Squadron at Pine Creek and Batchelor
110 members of this Squadron (including 25 of the RAAF) gave their lives
during 1942-45 in the defence of Australia.
