The building is made of stone with an iron roof.  In 1922 additions costing £1,600 were made to the building which up to that time consisted of a main hall and supper room. The additions, opened on Saturday 9 September 1922, consisted of two rooms in front of the hall and a kitchen at the rear. The extra rooms were used as a committee room and library and as a billiard room.

Mrs Warnes, wife of the chairman of the district council, opened the additions. Mr Warnes, in addressing the assembly, said the cost had been great and they were not out of the woods yet but he hoped at a minute to twelve that night the deficiency of £400 would be raised and a clean start be made.
