__________________________

The brick gates and sentry box originally formed the entrance to RAAF Tocumwal, the biggest air base in Australia during World War II. They were dedicated as a memorial by Father J. Tynam on 11 November 1974 in front of  a large re-union of those who served at the base. In 1984 they were re-erected in their present position at one of the entrance roads to Tocumwal Golf Club and were newly dedicated by Flt. Lt. G. Pyle D.F.C., R.A.A.F.
