__________________________

The memorial is a granite obelisk in a triangular concrete-paved area bounded by concrete walls with steel pipe rails between concrete posts. There is a white paling fence on north and south sides and a metal flagpole on the south-east side. The west and south sides of the obelisk are smooth and polished and carry inscriptions. The north side is smooth and unpolished. The east side is in natural unsmoothed state.

The granite used for the monument was a donation from the Moruya quarry, the place that supplied all the granite for the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The monument was unveiled on 14th March 1931. It was refurbished in 1983 at a cost of $500.
