Braidwood Servicemens Club Ltd is itself a memorial for all wars although it has never been officially opened or unveiled as such. The R.S.L. applied for a quarter of an acre of land in Ryrie Park on which to build memorial club rooms for returned servicemen but there were objections that they might become licensed premises and consequently be undesirable neighbours to the Convent and children's' playground. Others thought that the park had been set aside for recreation by the whole community and therefore a section should not be alienated for exclusive use by one group. Other sites were suggested and eventually the club was built adjacent to the golf links and opened in March 1954.
The club is completely independent of the R.S.L. as membership of the latter is limited to those who served overseas and the wish was for the club to include not only all those who took part in the war but the whole community.
Inside the club is an honour board that lists the names of those Braidwood service people killed in the 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 wars.
