The Hall was built in 1952. Funds to build it were raised from loans from residents.  The loans were repaid partly by holding dances and horse flag races. The bricks to build the base came from the demolished court house.1

Inside, on the wall to the right of the stage, is a polished wood honour board commemorating men and women who served in World War II.   Below this is a captured machine gun from the First World War, also fixed to the wall.
