__________________________
The memorial is a 3 metre obelisk built of local blue granite with a moulded and carved cap. It sits on a platform about 6 metres square and 45cm high with 4 granite posts at the corners.
It was unveiled on 31 January 1920 by Mrs McInerney, the oldest resident of the district. The cost of £120/12/0 was raised from voluntary subscriptions. The stone was quarried from Mr. James Grainger's property at Oakdale, about 8 km from Collector.
Many of the names also appear on the War Memorial in Gunning, the shire centre, 26 km distant.
